HeartbeatInk Tattoo Magazine visited fairytale Florence, thanks to the Florence Tattoo Convention, that was held this year for the twelfth time. The festival took place on Friday the 8th, Saturday the 9th and Sunday the 10th of November in Fortezza da Basso, an impressive 14th-century fortress.
Hundreds of tattoo artists from around the world and thousands of visitors got together at this celebration of tattoo and spent a highly creative three day weekend with both electric and hand tattooing, an art show with paintings from various artists, live graffiti, burlesque shows, skateboarding, performances and concerts. On Saturday and Sunday, among the activities and shows, the audience had the opportunity to compete for the two best tattoos in the categories "Tribal", "Colour", "Ornamental" and "Best of the Day", as well as "Realistic", "Oriental" and the "Best of Show" respectively.
