This year Barcelona Tattoo Expo celebrated its twenty years and it was great joy and honour for us that HeartbeatInk Tattoo Magazine took part in this great tattoo fest. The convention was once again hosted in the splendid and giant Fira located in the area of Plaça d'Espanya. The main difference this year, apart from the twentieth anniversary, was the fact of the Catalan independence referendum, which took place on Sunday the 1st of October; the third day of the tattoo convention. In spite of the justified "charged" atmosphere throughout Barcelona, the demonstrations and the unfortunate events that took place on the day of voting, thousands of tattoo lovers visited the acclaimed Barcelona Tattoo Expo in order to have a tattoo done from on of the hundreds of tattoo artists who traveled from all corners of the earth, to watch Baum's activities and entertain themselves in general.
