Name: Tammy Archive
Profession: Fashion Designer & Tattoo Artist.
Residence: Athens.
I was seventeen years old when I got my first tattoo done at Nico Tattoo Studio in Thessaloniki, the city I come from. That was my initiation into the world of tattoo. While I was a student in fashion design in Athens, I met many people and also consorted with people from the tattoo scene. So I started covering slowly my body with ink. The designs were my own or other artists'.
I then worked at True Love Tattoo Studio, visited tattoo conventions, red many things about the art of tattoo, carefully watched the work of numerous artists and then some time later I decided to pursue a career as tattooist, along with fashion.
The style of most of my tattoos is Traditional - Old School. This year I decided to experiment with some realistic portraits, although until now I wasn't into combining different tattoo styles on the same body. In practice, however, I really liked the outcome.
Nowadays, I do my own tattoo designs with Neo Traditional character and pop elements. I generally convey my personal aesthetic both in the clothes I make and the tattoos I design.
For some people, tattoo is perceived as a trend and for some others as ideology. Everybody has his own point of view. For me tattoo symbolizes sensuality.
After a rather long pause as far as my fashion work is concerned, I will be back for the new season with a new collection! Plus, I have the good fortune to be part of the Live in Colour Tattoo family, which is comprised of exceptional and professional tattooists and I hope to learn even more about the art of tattoo.
